 DON'T FORGET:

and all manner of fibre folk
will take place on April 13th, 2013  - 10AM to 3 PM
at the Port Hope Recreation Centre

Vendors,        door prizes,      refreshments

LOTS OF FUN !

Admission: $5

Our April meeting saw few of us attending - some were away, others fighting a bug or two.

Wendy had prepared a colour blending workshop for us using Deb Menz' book "Color in Spinning" as a reference. Those in attendance really enjoyed the process.
Wendy has more ideas about blending for colour. We'll have to revisit this topic next season when hopefully more of us can attend and enjoy.

Catching Up

Haven't posted for a while, but we've been busy.

First of all  - we had a display in the showcases of the Cobourg Public Library for the month of March. Astrid, Kim and Mara set it up and it looked great!

They gave us 2 side by side display cases to use.

The pink sign advertises the Gathering.

Then - at our March meeting, we decided to change our name to
THE GREAT PINE RIDGE FIBRE ARTS GUILD.

All of us do so much more than just spin and weave and we thought that this would be a more appropriate name for our group.

At the March meeting, Mara did a presentation on "Un-natural Fibres" with lots of information and samples of fibres such as polyester, nylon, bamboo, milk, soy, viscose, etc.

Our March "fun day" at Jane's, was truly a lot of fun.
Kim dabbles in wine making, as well as in fibre. She brought an assortment of wines for us to taste with our lunch - all delicious.

Wine and fibre - what could be better?
